Technodyne Industries is a company founded in 1972. They were among the first to produce photo paper that could be printed on by computers, and more recently, they got in early on 3D printing, so their products are in no danger of becoming obsolete any time soon. However, they are experiencing some problems. Hiring entry-level college graduates is difficult, and perceptions of Technodyne as a company are spiraling downward from its once-respected status.

The CEO wants to get to the bottom of this, so he hires a hot consulting firm, MakeLemonade, to figure out the problem and work on turning it around. MakeLemonade assigns a team of three consultants to work at Technodyne—Julian, Elyssa, and Ezra.

Your job is to help the consultant team figure out Technodyne’s problems and propose solutions that the rather old-school management team will be willing to adopt.

The first thing the team does is conduct an eNPS survey among all employees of Technodyne. The results are . . . not great. Elyssa’s analysis shows that the majority of employees under fifty are either passive or detractors. Only a few are enthusiastic about promoting the company.

When they present this information to the management team, the CEO’s responds by saying, “We are a well-respected company, and we haven’t changed our way of doing business. I don’t see how this could be possible.”
